1387504 2014-11-01 22:39:00 As Sean Fitzpatrick would've said, all credit to the USA and their fans. Greg (193)

1387506 2014-11-01 23:29:00 It was certainly entertaining, just a pity the Eagles didn't get a try for the benefit of the crowd. :) Webdevguy (17166)
1387507 2014-11-02 00:34:00 If the score ratio were reversed, it would read like a Black Caps result. :) R2x1 (4628)
1387508 2014-11-02 06:04:00 It was certainly entertaining, just a pity the Eagles didn't get a try for the benefit of the crowd. :) The AB's could have at least given them one " just for the hell of it" :) wainuitech (129)
1387509 2014-11-02 06:40:00 Match fixing? Not cricket, old chap ... :D

Seriously, I'd have welcomed a better showing from the Eagles. I subscribe to the view that get the level of interest in Rugby up in the US, and access to the vast infrastructure and finance that would follow on must benefit the code enormously. Look what happened to Soccer there ...

1387510 2014-11-02 20:58:00 Rugby in the US, nope it wont take off.
Think about it, if as a teen you played sport as a teen in the US, would you play the popular US sports that get all the attention & the huuuge wages for the Pro's if you can make it. And possibly college sponsorship.
or the worldwide no1 :soccer with huge paypackets for top stars
or some unkown sport like rugby.
:-)

1387511 2014-11-02 21:57:00 I read somewhere recently that rugby is the fastest growing sport in America gary67 (56)
1387512 2014-11-02 22:01:00 I also heard that the top US sports guys individually get more than dosh than all the All Blacks put together.

It could if the IRB gave it a reason to grow and by creating a North Atlantic style super 12 rugby by adding 6 teams from the US to the existing 6 Nations ( England, Ireland, Scotland, France, Wales and Italy) which would also serve to improve the global reach of the World Cup.

The UK is already attracting NFL teams to play in Twickenham on a weekly basis as part of an extension to the NFL schedule so expanding the 6 nations would be totally possible.
