437868 2006-03-13 22:32:00 it's abit off topic, but I've got a dvd recorder that records very poorly, the images are fuzzy and diluted, now is it the quality of the recorder, or the Disc that records it determines the overall result of teh DVD?

thanks

More info required. Type and model of recorder would be a start..

437870 2006-03-14 00:15:00 Most DVD & HDD recorders have quality settings you can choose from, or even set it manually.
High quality will give you an hour on a DVD, medium quality 2 hours on a DVD, low quality 4 hours on a DVD etc.
Yours might be set to a low quality setting.

437871 2006-03-14 03:03:00 Don't forget the quality of your aerial signal as well. If you don't get a 1st class pix on the TV, you won't get any better on the DVD. Make sure it is properly tuned as well.

437872 2006-03-14 23:34:00 well, i guess a warehouse brand is gonna record far worse than a SONY DVD recorder that costs $799.....does anyone agree? :badpc: WestMclaren2004 (7303)

So, did you buy your DVD recorder from the Warehouse? You are being very circumspect about the brand so it is not surprising we can't help you.

I myself only have a Warehouse crystal ball. It is monochrome only and the range is limited to 1 metre so I can't really get a picture of your problem.

The quality of your TV can also affect the results, especially if you are using an RF input and it isn't tuned correctly.

Dang, the old crystal ball went and faded out on that question as well. :(
