437791 2006-03-13 22:52:00 Hi There . You are not alone with these issues with KOL .

1: You can try throttling back you modem speed and port speed to enable a more stable connection . XP = START /CONTROL PANEL /PHONE MODEM/ CLICK ON MODEM /PROPERTIES/ ALL THE VARIABLES FOR SPEED AND PORT SPEED ARE WITHIN THE MODEM AND ADVANCED TABS .

2: If you have a friend prepared to let you set up their ISP connection on your pc for a short diagnostic period is worthwhile . Dial-up KOL and empty cache in your browser . Try to load a defined websites such as Cnet which are known to have plenty of bandwidth . Record the time taken for your page loads on approx four respected international sites . Shut down your KOL isp connection and then then dial up your borrowed diagnostic connection . Be sure to empty browser cache first and then try the same websites as were tested with your KOL ISP .

3:If you find that you have a large speed and reliability difference which I expect you will then you need to look no further really . The reason for this is that by using the same hardware you have found instant reliability which would mean that line noise and hardware are not the problem . Remedy change ISP .

4:Often you will find that with cheap ISPs that if you dial up in an off peak time after midnight then a notice a difference in either stability and perhaps download speed because of more bandwidth being available . If this is your result then it is because fewer subscribers are online . Remedy change ISP .

5:Some subscribers claim to have reliable service with KOL which is easily explainable . During peak subscriber on line times the bandwidth is generally stronger to those nearest the source . The servers can also be configured to provide good bandwidth to where the majority of there subscribers reside firstly . Some low bandwidth servers use a dial-up knock off method which shuts down your connection and allows another subscriber to dial-up .

Summary:
The defining point of all these diagnostic outcomes is, if instant reliability is found from another ISP connection and you have are still using the same hardware .

A: The ISP connection is the problem .

If you have failed to improve your outcomes using multiple ISP diagnostics, and if you have exhausted all help .

B: Hardware and software need to be evaluated for connectivity reliability .
