| 438692 | 2006-03-16 15:52:00 | I went to User Control Pannell to see why I had not been notified about a new post to a thread I had participated in and found this. "There are no subscribed threads to display in this folder for this time period." When I clicked on "Show all threads" there were 48 of them. I have only one folder for these, so why don't I see them right away? The new post to the thread was at 10:39 last night, that is 6 hours ago and I got no email. I have email prefs set to "instant". it still is. How do I change the settings? It isn't obvious. |

| 438693 | 2006-03-16 16:00:00 | Morning........ If in your CP you go to edit options the fourth box down identifies this subscription method. in a drop down box..... ensure you do have the correct part showing, and also when you make a post, ensure that in additional options shows instant notification. it has a drop down list of methods, also make sure you click ok or save? to hold these options.... clear as mud? and as a side to this, is your email correct for pf1 notifications? and is it currently working? i do know that sometimes its an isp fault, i dont always get instant notification, more so with gmail addy's.. hope this helps... i have mine set so any time i post in a thread i get a email if its been reposted in by others.... oh and in thread tools you can manually subscribe to a thread with out posting.... not sure what else could be going wrong in your settings sorry... :) beetle |

Also, you only get notified about the next post in the subscribed thread once you logged off the forum, and not any subsequent posts in that same thread. Re-logging back onto the forum will activate the notifications for that thread again, but again, once you are logged off you will only get the single next post notification. Not sure what the default period is for displaying your subscribed threads in the UserCP area without having to select "Show All" after logging off the forum, but it is not very long. What you are seeing sounds normal. :) |
