2006-03-15 03:08:00 | http://www.emergetech.co.nz/ I am about to buy some speakers from them but I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with them. Also on another note I just saw an add about xtra broadband being faster and cheaper....coming soon. Right now I have the xtra adventure plan which is the best you can get I think I have a 10gig limit. Does anyone know about any official word to what the fatser and cheaper is going to be.

2006-03-15 03:34:00 | wow is that a joke. $150 for average speeds compared to the rest of the world and still a cap? Wow one of my old mates from the US just got fios which is fiberoptics. It is unlimited of course like everyones over there and when he downloads things it goes at about 2MB/s on average. Its just amazing and it is costing him $50 US so about $80NZ tops. O well I guess I'll get 3.5MB line upgrade for nothing more. Also by the 2MB/s download he has that is when he is acually downloading things not just the line.

Check those numbers again...I am on DSL/Verizon in Southern California and have a 4MB speed....and FIOS is just down the road a few weeks (in distance and time...they say I'll get it by June), and it promises me speeds in excess of 6MB. When FIOS gets here, and since I am on a package deal for phone/DSL etc, the FIOS will cost me only $30 US for the service; of course, no caps. Maybe I am really close to my DSLAM....... |

2006-03-15 18:50:00 | Ye I dont know all I know if when he uploads things to me it goes at about 1MB/s and when he downloads things from the net its goes 2MB/s or faster. | kiwimate27 (9833) | |
2006-03-15 23:54:00 | when we're talking speeds and downloads are you referring to 2MB/s as 2 megabytes per seconds as to 2mps ? because if you have a 2Meg/2Mps connection it doesnt download at 2megs per second, you devide the amount of mips by about 8 and you get your download speed e.g if you're on a 2Meg connection your max download speed is 250k per second give or take | Jimmy D (2061) | |
