| 438176 | 2006-03-14 23:14:00 | Hi All My problem is - My DVD RW used to work brilliantly until I decided to change my operating system from XPpro to XPpro. I know, stupid. My dvd drive now no longer recognises DVD discs when they are inserted so I can't play anything. The operating system recognises the drive alright, and I have no problem playing AVI's, only DVD's. My Combo drive is a LiteOn DVD/Cd RW LDW 451s. All suggestions desperately welcomed. |

In terms of what the drive recognises - It finds CD's not a problem, it just doesn't recognise that a DVD disc is even inserted despite having done so. Any thoughts? |

In terms of what the drive recognises - It finds CD's not a problem, it just doesn't recognise that a DVD disc is even inserted despite having done so. Any thoughts? Maybe you do not have a software dvd installed. Have you tried installing the bundled DVD software like POWER DVD, Intervideo, etc? This software CD must be bundled with the DVD Drive. Also, when you insert DVD movies in the drive, check the DVD Drive at Explorer, and you must see the DVD title of the disc if the drive is working properly. Hope this helps... |
