Perhaps get a checkdisk cd for your harddrive and booting up with that. In case you didn't know - Safe Mode loads ONLY generic drivers (to alleviate driver conflicts) and only runs the programs needed to run windows. That being said, you aren't having a driver issue, or a program issue - their is little else to blame it on. I would say hard drive, IMO...checkdisk will tell you if there is a problem, and - has a chance of solving it. good luck :P |

| 438758 | 2006-03-17 17:35:00 | Oh, i didn't see that part - yea, i've seen that virus as well, the virus is called sasser worm... (securityresponse.symantec.com) I had this issue at my office, and one of my client workstations would log on and turn right off...she couldn't do a thing...even in safe mode here is a link to the fix on my personal FTP site. I was able to fix her PC within the few seconds I had before it rebooted...but make sure you log in with safe mode after you download it. it may take a few reboots to get it right, but put it on your desktop, and run it until your computer doesn't shut off :P |

| 438759 | 2006-03-17 17:47:00 | no it's NOT sasser......... they are not saying it reboots they are saying they log in to windows with their password then it briefly shows te desktop then it goes back to the windows login screen...... sasser will do NOTHING untill you get online then it'll give you 60 seconds before switchign the machine off........this is NOT the symptom this person has described at all....... |
