| 439643 | 2006-03-21 07:11:00 | I have a HP pavilion zd7000 running Fedora Core 3 and no sound. I have tried various things posted on but no avaid. Show stopper is alsactl -f xx store says "No soundcards found". What can I try? |

| 439645 | 2006-03-21 09:12:00 | Looking at the specs, the soundcard is (supposedly) a Intel 8x0 jobby, so the easiest way I find working with these is to either disable hotplug entirely or blacklist the module in hotplug. I'm guessing it'd be easier to blacklist the module - so add "snd-intel8x0m" (no quote marks) to /etc/hotplug/blacklist. After this, add the following lines to /etc/modprobe.conf: alias snd-card-0 snd-intel8x0 alias sound-slot-0 snd-intel8x0 This will save you having to run alsaconf, then just reboot and see how it goes |
