2006-03-19 05:00:00 | I had 2 monitors hooked up to my 6600GT, and was trying to see the info of the 2nd monitor in powerstrip - Don't know what I did but I noticed all my games very laggy, went to DXdiag and my card has n/a for approx. total memory. Also, agp acceleration and directdraw acceleration are disabled and can't be enabled. :help: :badpc: I uninstalled the nvidia drivers and re-installed but no change, tried resetting to defaults, no change either.

2006-03-19 07:03:00 | Have you just formatted this system?? Why not use the Nvidia drivers?? I take it Powerstrip is a program for multiple monitors? I would check the BIOS to see how much ram has been allocated for the card. It maybe set to 0, or None. If the option is there.

2006-03-19 08:52:00 | I installed windows several months ago - no problem with it until now, I was already using the latest nvidia drivers. The card is a seperate AGP card so it already has 128MB for itself. Powerstrip is a program where you can make custom resolutions/refresh rates etc, overclock video card, change colours etc.. There is also a utility where you can get info about the monitor you are using from the monitor's inbuilt chip or whatever, and that's all I was using powerstrip for (trying to find out the manufacturer of an unknown monitor). It was only when I tried to play GTA:VC and it said my card didn't have enough ram :( that I noticed there was a problem Also noticed another problem, whenever my cd-writer or dvd drive is working, the computer lags very badly. this did not happen before now. DMA is enabled (as it was before)

2006-03-19 08:59:00 | What happens if u quit Powerstrip, and try and configure the monitors, thru properties / settings / advanced on the desktop?? Where the Nvidia settings are?? Can you remember installing the inf drivers / mobo drivers, after u installed windows the last time? How much ram is on the system itself? 512? 1 GB?

2006-03-19 09:13:00 | I have quit powerstrip/restarted/reset to defaults nothing works... I have disconnected the 2nd monitor and in nvidia control panel I have set it to 1 monitor and reset all settings to defaults.. re-installed chipset drivers due to the drives being laggy - didn't have any effect on either problem.. I have 1GB system ram.

2006-03-19 22:12:00 | I would uninstall the drivers u have installed now. Get Drivercleaner Pro (http://www.drivercleaner.net/) Boot into safe mode, run Drivercleaner, and select the Nvidia option (Not Nvidia WMI or anything else, just Nvidia), so it removes all entries for the drivers. And ATI if you've had an ATI videocard before. Get the latest drivers (www.nvidia.com) which are now up to 84.21. Reboot, after you've used Drivercleaner, and reinstall the latest drivers.

2006-03-19 22:38:00 | I am guessing there is a setting wrong on the vid card, maybe this is the place (http://forum.entechtaiwan.com/) you will find your answer. | Rob99 (151) | |
2006-03-19 23:28:00 | 1) uninstalled nvidia drivers 2) rebooted into safe mode, cleaned with drivercleaner 3) rebooted normally, installed new drivers from nvidia's site 4) rebooted again - still the problem is there :angry this is really starting to annoy me

2006-03-19 23:54:00 | The card is no longer under warranty, so I'm pretty sure I'm not going to get anywhere with that... I'm going to try the card in a different computer and see what happens
