A quick way to identify hardware is to plug it in, and boot a Linux Live CD version. Knoppix is very good at this. Then dmesg | grep network ... |

don't feel bad tontoe. i've just come across someone who'e just paid $300 for an old 486 at a garage sale - they thought it was a bargain, because it came with speakers & told it was broadband ready. |
