440009 2006-03-22 23:03:00 Hi

I have an HP HX4700 Ipaq pocket PC that I synchronise to my Outlook 2002 on my laptop using MS-Activesync 3.8.

Everything works fine, but every time I sync Activesync displays a warning message telling that the Notes I store on the Ipaq 'have not been synchronized with this computer before'. I am then presented with the options to either:

Combine the items on the device with the items on the computer
Replace the items on my device with the items on the computer.
Do not synchronize at this time.

If I choose the first option, my Notes get duplicated on both the Ipaq and the PC.

If I choose the second option, any Notes entered on the Ipaq are lost.

The third option is no benefit to me.

I'd really just like Activesync to sync the Notes for me as normal - any ideas on how to do this? Is there a registry change or something that will fix this?

All help appreciated.

Are you also using AvantGo? It can cause issues with MS-Activesync 3.8. and should be updated.

More info here (www.microsoft.com).

440011 2006-03-28 22:39:00 No, no AvantGo. Plain Vanilla Pocket PC OS with no additional apps installed, and plain vanilla ActiveSync 3.8.

It WAS working ok, then suddenly one day, it started prompting. I can not trace the change back to any particular event though.

440012 2007-12-03 00:27:00 I see this thread is over a year old - did you ever resolve the problem?

I'm suddenly having the same issue with my iPaq - it's been syncing fine since I got it (about a year ago), now suddenly it wants to either duplicate or erase 1800 calendar items and 5300 contact items. Any idea what went wrong? Is there some way to tell activsync it's mistaken, that these items HAVE in fact been synced before?
