439932 2006-03-22 10:32:00 How much noticable preformance gain would I see between a;
Maxtor 80GB, 7200rpm, 8192KB Cache, ATA-7/133 for $117.59
and a;
Samsung 80GB, 7200rpm, 2048KB Cache, ATA-7/133 for $111.10

Both are IDE, the only noticable specification difference, apart from brand and price is the Cache, 2mb against 8mb.

439933 2006-03-22 11:42:00 maxtor any day. samsung is more of a budget brand imho and going to 8meg cache for only $6 more is a no brainer :) tweak'e (69)
439934 2006-03-22 22:09:00 If I were you I would also be quite interested in the warranty offered by each of those brands. Seagate and WD offer five year warranties for some of their hard drives and would be worth considering. FoxyMX (5)
