| 439882 | 2006-03-22 08:56:00 | As most of you are aware midnight tonight is the launch of the xbox 360 so how many of you gamers are going out tonight to buy the expensive version at $719 and how many of you are going to wait until it comes down, if it were me and if i had that much on me id be out to buy it tonight. | Hitech (9024) | ||

| 439884 | 2006-03-22 10:42:00 | Not a chance, I have been enjoying the benifits of "next generation" gaming on my PC for years, High detail, high resolution, Online gaming, Mods, etc etc, still much more then a console can offer, Especially when you take into account the gameplay is dumbed down to accomidate the control device and the targeted audience. And of course it would look like crap through a non-High definition television, Sure its better graphiclly then an Xbox.....But the original Xbox's output was/is pig ugly. So, as per your last thread, Perhaps when/if I purchase a HD television, but most probally not. |

It would look quite good on that big screen of yours. I'm getting one as soon as I get a break today :D |

Price, portability & easy to get set up & start playing - when a friend brings over a game (or you rent a game) you don't have to install & activate it, you just chuck it in & start playing. |

| 439891 | 2006-03-23 22:40:00 | As promised, my (very incomplete) review . I wish I had more time to spend last night, but anyway . . The 360 was working well for me, I didn't see any problems with the analog TV out, I am also waiting for a VGA cable, so was unable to put a decent rest test up . The graphics in Burnout were much prettier . . it really is the same game, just better graphics though . The wireless controllers a good, and the whole neatness of the system is great . DVD playback was . . well DVD playback . . it works well . The power on/off from the remote is nice . . I hated that you couldn't do that on the xbox I had sound skip in one game (eldar scrolls), and I felt like I was slightly laggier playing KoTOR II under emulation that it was on the xbox . (completely playable . . just . . a feeling /shrug) I didn't have time to get it hooked up to a windows MCE machine, although I have one available, it was not on the network, and it was going to take time to get it there . The live stuff is neat so far, but I have yet to try playing/messaging people online . . . I just don't know anyone who has a live account yet :( Overall I like it, the multimedia stuff with MCE was one of the big draws (that and someone stole my xbox 1 so I needed a replacement) so I have a lot of playing to go . Is it worth the $700? we'll see . |
