| 439774 | 2006-03-22 03:56:00 | Hi there. Some of you recently helped me get my printer (Hp Deskjet 3745) working through my Linux(Badger) which is connected to my XP box via cross-over wire(and KVM). The printer is plugged into the XP box by USB and has now stopped printing. When I switch on the computers it comes to life unasked and the ink carriage does a couple of runs and paper is pulled in. But if I select some text and asked it to print, I get no response. I've tried no end of things; even unsharing it with the Linux box. I tried to put XP into 'stand-by' and got a dialog saying 'Print Spooler is preventing the machine from entering stand-by. Try stopping this service and try again'. I would if I knew how - someone may be kind enough to tell me - and whether doing so might get it printing again. The ink supply is indicated as being about a third full. My thanks in advance to those who's help I rely on......Sarum | sarum (6222) | ||

But it works, after a couple of weeks' frustration. I've book marked that site and would recommend it to anyone with that particular printer. Cheers Sarum.. |
