Today, while trying to open my desktop icon "Job Tracker", a few popup screens came up. One said "Microsoft Office XP trying to configure" so I closed it. Second one said "the feature you're trying to use is on a CD Rom or other removable disk. Insert "Microsoft Office XP Small Business Disk and click ok. I closed it because I didn't want to do anything like this. The third one said "Error 1706 C:\date\jobtracker.xls fatal error during installation". I closed that one too and tried to reopen my job tracker program but all the screens popped back up and I can't get rid of them. I'm new on this job (a month) and am not very computer savy and really need some help before I go in tomorrow. The job tracker is in the excel program and I NEVER could open it today. Unfortunately, I use it EVERY day and now can't. Thanks. |

It sounds like Excel is not installed anymore or corrupt, for whatever reason, and that is why it's asking for the Office XP CD so it can reinstall it. |

Thanks for someone responding before I leave for work today. Guess I'll have to find out where the CD is (no one seems to know these things) and follow the prompts. I'll let you know how it works - Thanks :) |
