2006-03-24 16:19:00 | I am praying that someone can help me. Everytime I surf the internet, and change pages, my cd and dvd trays open and close randomly. I have searched for virus's etc and found nothing. Has anyone else had the same problem, this is really giving me a headache. I hope to hear from you experts soon! Satts | satts (10058) | |
2006-03-24 21:06:00 | What antivirus you using to check your system with? Do you run a firewall? Have you tried running your antivirus in safe mode? What OS you using?

2006-03-24 23:41:00 | I have xp and used AVG virus scanner and firewall. | satts (10058) | |
2006-03-24 23:42:00 | Could it be a confliction in hardware???? I am clutching as straws really. | satts (10058) | |
2006-03-24 23:53:00 | Boot into safe mode, run hijackthis again tick these entries and tick fix checked. O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MSMSGS] "C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe" /background - Run this manually. These dont have to run on startup O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NvCplDaemon] RUNDLL32.EXE C:\WINDOWS\System32\NvCpl.dll,NvStartup O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [nwiz] nwiz.exe /install O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [UpdReg] C:\WINDOWS\UpdReg.EXE O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NvMediaCenter] RUNDLL32.EXE C:\WINDOWS\System32\NvMcTray.dll,NvTaskbarInit O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\bin\jusched.exe Nah, I doubt hardware conflicts would open and close a CD. If there were a conflict, whatever is conflicting wouldnt work.

2006-03-25 00:18:00 | Mate, I appreciate the help. I have tried all above and it still does it. It is amazing, i open internet explorer, and as soon as i click on any website the draws start to open and close on each page. It torture!!! Do you have any other ideas???? | satts (10058) | |
2006-03-25 00:25:00 | Get this (http://www.simplysup.com/) Its only a demo, but try it anyway. Download/install/run it, click on scan. Then select the 3rd-7th option under the utilities menu. So, I take it, you ticked the entries above and tick fix checked?? Then rebooted? If those two files are still in documents and settings, boot back into safe mode and delete them. Altho there was a dat update for Mcafees recently that screwed things up. It deleted files. As shown here (vil.nai.com)
