441587 2006-03-29 02:46:00 I'm helping a friend clean up there computer by removing unused software etc...

They have a trial version of a program called "Add/Remove Plus! 2004" installed, but it doesn't have an unistall function in its start menu group, and it it isn't on the control panels add/remove program list...

In the C:\program files\addremoveplus it does have an unistall program...

Can we double click this and will it safely remove the program?

Any other help suggestions is appreciated.

Thanks.

M.

P.S. (The PC = Win Xp, SP2)

Yes, that will be fine. After it has uninstalled you may need to remove the program's folder as well.

If the uninstall application doesn't work, you may want to see about finding a registry map for the program and delete certain instances from the registry...

Damn! . . . More M$ bashing . . . .

Look . . . "Add/Remove Plus! 2004" isn't a Microsoft program in any way . . . I even have a copy (not-yet-or-ever-gonna-be installed) on a CD-Rom from ZOOM LINK a third-party modem driver utility . . . . . . far removed from MicroSoft .

There are MANY ways to remove a program with no uninstall provision . . . SpyBot S&D has one of these tools . . . there are others . It ain't the fault of Mr . Bill or some hidden program to ruin your 'puter and cause you grief .

It's just software! :angry
