| 441661 | 2006-03-30 03:33:00 | PC ports to console are never as good on the console and visa versa. -Qyiet I generally agree with what you're saying but I've always enjoyed the PC GTAs more than the console originals (of course that's just me). So there are some exceptions *points out obvious*. Anyway, my friend runs this game at 1024 x 768 on about average settings, pretty smooth on his 6600GT (granted he has only really played the beginning area of the game). You can find them quite cheap, at a little over $200. |

So there are some exceptions *points out obvious* . Yeah . . I found that too . While using a car on the console was easier the first person stuff was *far* better on the PC . For reference I am running Oblivian at 1024x768 (VGA cable, Projector) on a 360, and it seems very smooth . There is only thing that I would feel better with a mouse with, and it's selecting points on the in game map . I have yet to see Oblivian running on a PC, but I don't think you'll have a worse experience with an xbox, and potentially a lot less hassle . However if that's the only reason you would buy an xbox it hardly makes economic sense . I would need to have at least 3 titles I wanted to play before purchasing a system . -Qyiet |

| 441663 | 2006-03-30 06:33:00 | I wouldn't be interested in a car game so dumbed down that it could be conquored with a gamepad . As for The Xbox 360, I went into the shops on Sunday to buy one and a plasma or LCD TV, Now, Oblivion may be jaw dropping on the console, But the games I saw running looked like nothing more then crisper versions of the original Xbox games, Loading times were terrible, and the game selection contained nothing that interested be, So I purchased nothing :annoyed: I was surprised by how underwhelming the rig was in the flesh . |

| 441664 | 2006-03-30 06:38:00 | Not that i am an xbox freak, or even a gamer freak . . . . but have recently been shown the game Morrowind? previous to Oblivion, and i was quite shocked at how long everything took to load, my PS2 is much faster . . . . . . . . . why is this? Not that i have a need to go and buy a Xbox, but a new TV is on the cards soon . . . . . 43 inch maybe? :p and was wondering what others opinions were about this new game release? is it worth it? and as good or better than morrowind??? :illogical I cannot beleive i just asked that . . . . . meh must be a gamers attitudes rubbing off on me . . . . . beetle |

However the US guys always run their game at like 16x12 max details HDR etc. If you are only a 10x7 gamer, a 6600GT might cut it. I havent tried on my rig, RTS dont interest me. |

| 441668 | 2006-03-30 08:22:00 | Some games work better on consoles, some work better on PCs, it all depends on what it was designed for really. This is incorrect. Everything "works better" on a decent gaming PC. The problem is usually A) Ported to PC not improved to take advantage of better hardware B)Old PCs struggling to meet minimum specs |

| 441670 | 2006-03-30 08:46:00 | I thought Socket A only went up to 2400+. Is there a bios update for most the old socet A mobos to allow them to use higher speed processors? I don't think my socket A can even go up to 2400+ There may be BIOS upgrade for your motherboard or not as the case may be. I have a soltek motherboard Socket A with an Athlon 3200+ running here. If you want to upgrade the CPU then you may have to upgrade motherboard and RAM as well. What make and model motherboard are you using? |
