Surprise, surprise, the mate couldn’t find his XP disk initially. :blush: So, I rolled back to the first restore point. Then another surprise, sfc /scannow worked, and an even bigger surprise, it didn’t find any corrupted files. I then cleaned out all the c..p and Office installed no problem. Oh, and wouldn’t you know it, having finished the mate turns up with his XP disk! :D My only regret is I didn’t get a chance to try an “over the top” install to see how it went or if I could. No doubt my chance will come. ;) So thanks again everyone. :) |
