| 442281 | 2006-03-31 00:48:00 | I did some registry editing on a laptop which means I have a backup reg file. In the same session I uninstalled some apps which required a reboot and XP will not boot any more saying a system file is missing or corrupt. The system file is neither missing or corrupt so I think the registry is the problem. I would like to know how I can restore the registry to it's backed up state from the console without the admin password (OEM install, not my laptop). I mention not having the admin password because googleing has given me a set of instructions that rely on using the recovery console. |
