| 442186 | 2006-03-30 21:00:00 | Hello.. I'm running Windows Media Center Edition, and I'm currently having prouble opening certain stuff that would usually open an url (Such as the McAfee Updating Program or the Help and Support in Windows). Instead of loading the URL in the current window, it asks me to download it instead of just opening it as it is. This cannot be a Virus/hijack/spyware problem, since I got the computer yesterday, and I got Windows Defender, Ad-Aware Personal Edition 1.06 and up untill earlier today I had McAfee running as well. If anyone has a solution I'd be forever greatful! |

| 442189 | 2006-03-30 21:30:00 | It looks fine to me. Run hijackthis again tick these entries and tick fix checked. O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_03\bin\jusched.exe - Update this. It's now up to 1.5.0.06. From here (www.java.com) (2nd option - offline install 16mb). I think you have to uninstall this version, then install the latest version. Is Mcafee's working?? | 442190 | 2006-03-30 21:37:00 | No it is not.. Had to uninstall in manually and haven't gotten to the registry part yet. In regards to the java file, I have the newest Java, and checking and fixing did nothing. |

| 442192 | 2006-03-30 22:45:00 | If Speedy Gonzales hasn't spotted it, it's something unusual. I'm guessing that a pop-up blocker is giving you grief. IE6 has one built-in, but maybe another one is the culprit. Try this: Tools ... Internet Options ... "Privacy" tab Clear the check box on "Block pop ups" As I said I don't think this'll fix it. |

| 442193 | 2006-03-30 22:50:00 | As said, it's got nothing to do with an infection. And no the problem is not with the Pop-up blocker either, since I have this combination of software on all my computers. Using a system restore point is not an option either, since when I go to the recovery wizard, it just says there's too many different system recovery point on that date, so I should pick another.. Well guess what.. it won't let me.. so I'm stuck. |
