| 442801 | 2006-04-01 11:05:00 | i purchased the leadteck 2000xp deluxe tuner card and its working way better than i expected, easy to install, easy to use... just a downside of cannot record subtitles when recording program to hard drive or VCR if you hook that up 2 it (i havent but its possible) but yeah its really good, comes with some editing software etc etc...so yeah... but thats my comment, i'm sure there are others who recommend other ones and yeah.. |

| 442805 | 2006-04-01 23:35:00 | I have a Winfast TV & FM tuner card, the same (I believe) as the Leadteck mentioned above and I am happy with it. If I am not mistaken, there are not many choices here in NZ and the Winfast/Leadteck card is the predominant one on the market. | Strommer (42) | ||
| 442806 | 2006-04-02 00:48:00 | I think I went through every TV tuner card in my local computer shop. In the end end I went for a LifeView FlyTV Platinum TV Tuner. The key reason I went for thing was the Philips 7135 chipset - worldwide TV Tuner to handle both NTSC and PAL (various variants). This was to let me capture old video tapes, including some from overseas, so that I could output them to DVD. This generally works but has a couple of issues. NTSC video tapes captured (from PAL VCR with NTSC playback) have a type of video interference - probably due to the difference in vertical scanlines. After a while the video and audio get out of synch. Although this could be in part due to the fact that my PC is 5 years old and can't keep up. However it can be annoying in the rare event that I'm using my PC as a second video recorder (rare because there's hardly ever anything on worth watching on one channel let alone two) However, despite the problems its still been worthwhile. Cheers |
