| 1388214 | 2014-11-17 20:22:00 | So Norton AV disables its product when you enter certain countries. The sort of countries where you really need it .Most useless product ever ? twitter.com This is even more damming www.theregister.co.uk _redmond_says/ "Two unnamed vendors were behind 87.9 percent of expired anti-virus subscriptions, largely because the software was foisted on users as bloatware on new machines." Big name laptop & PC manufactures need to be held accountable for this. They preload trial AV products, & disable the built in MS AV/Firewall . Trial expires in 30 days & the PC is left with no AV. At least if they didnt disable the MS AV there would be something .....Sometimes the firewall cant easily be re-enabled . I see plenty of PC's & laptops with expired norton AV. The user really had no idea. Its a disgrace for manufacturers to preload AV that expires in 30 days. Shows how little they care for their customers security. |

| 1388216 | 2014-11-18 09:54:00 | So Norton AV disables its product when you enter certain countries... The US trade embargo on some countries applied to advanced hi-tech products that could be mis-used by the baddies in those countries. Does anyone in their right mind think Norton comes under this category ?? The US would be better encouraging the use of Norton there instead of banning it !!! |
