| 1388058 | 2014-11-13 04:26:00 | Phillip John Smith faces a two-month spell in a notorious Rio de Janeiro prison. How sad - Never mind -- Dont hurry to send him back to our holiday camp ;) When he gets back, they'll have the wet bus ticket, Sky TV & 3 meals a day ready :D www.stuff.co.nz |

I suggest someone let the Brazilian prisoners know about his original crime..... |

It would be cheaper all round and justice just might have some meaning. |

| 1388061 | 2014-11-13 18:53:00 | Read this last night: www.stuff.co.nz Why can't we just pay Brazil to keep him right where he is? It would be cheaper all round and justice just might have some meaning. Near the end of the article: In the meantime, he is expected to be transferred to Ary Franco, a notorious prison in one of Rio's grim working class suburbs. The jail is considered awful, even by Brazil's low standards, with a United Nations report describing it as "dark, dirty, steamy and cockroach-infested", and recommending its immediate closure. That will make the NZ prisons look like a resort ;) One other Comment I also saw on FB Four days for NZ prisons to even notice he had escaped, vs five hours for Brazilian authorities to catch him once they had the paperwork from NZ. Makes the NZ security system look rather "bad". |

Make it retrospective, so it could be applied at any time, even after release. I cant understand how he got away with $50 per week reparations to his victims, yet had $10K+ in the bank. Surely since the NZ Jail knew he was runninmg a buseness, someone would have clicked & said he can pay his reparatrions off quicker. |

| 1388063 | 2014-11-13 21:04:00 | It just gets better & better Phillip Smith's tax rort Fugitive and convicted murderer Phillip Smith had rorted benefits of almost $50,000 from taxpayers while behind bars www.stuff.co.nz "Inland Revenue undertook a large volume of bank tracing in order to identify where the refunds went, but the funds were not able to be recovered," So he had a big stash of $$ hidden away somewhere. Why was he allowed out before he gave up/gave back all that stolen cash ? Smith's business partner was up-skirt peeper www.nzherald.co.nz |

| 1388065 | 2014-11-14 00:14:00 | Gotta agree. Keep the grubby sod where he is - let him make a few "friends" there. An interesting thing tho - did you notice the Brazillian TV screen shot when he was found? I don't speak or read Spanish (or whatever it was) but the opening word in capitals was unmistakeably PAEDOPHILE Could be interesting - not too many of even the worst kind of baddies go for that! |

| 1388067 | 2014-11-16 03:35:00 | Incredible. Someone needs to tell Brazil it is NOT an international incident if they keep him in the **** prison and none of us care if he isn't happy. | pctek (84) | ||
