1388587 2015-01-16 02:24:00 Got a 2012 Nexus 7 at home, will have to check if the OTA update is available, last time I checked it wasn't (about a week ago). My HTC One M7 hasn't got it, HTC apparently promised it sometime before March, so we will see.

The Nexus has got extremely slow recently, a reset and upgrade will hopefully help it.

1388588 2015-01-16 04:10:00 My wife's 2012 N7 updated last week to 5.0.2. It seems to run OK but not for the first 5 minutes where it's like waiting for paint to dry.. After about 5 minutes it's fine.. paulw (1826)

My 1st generation Nexus 7 updated from 4.4.4 to 5.0.2 this morning. Seems to run about the same. Odd thing is that to unlock I used to swipe down; they seem to have changed that to swipe up! What kind of software designer would have decided that was an important thing to do? ...

Thought the swipe to unlock used to be in all directions, not just down? It is on my Moto G 2014, which is pretty darn close to stock android.

1388593 2015-01-17 02:10:00 Swipe left for camera
swipe left for phone
swipe up for apps/homepage?

Just updated original Nexus 7, Nexus 5 updated soon after I got it (thanks Santa).
No problems with either.

1388594 2015-01-18 01:59:00 My Nexus 4 is still running well on Lollipop (5.0.1), my Nexus 7 (2013) is still on 4.4.4 (not that unhappy at that - it works just fine) but I splashed out on a Nexus 6 on Friday. It doesn't have the 3G 2100mHz band that Telecom/Spark use but it seems to work just fine on the 3G 850mHz band and the 4G/LTE (band 28).

When I went to get a nano-SIM for the N6, the guys in the Spark shop said "It won't work on the Telecom network" - but they said that about my Nexus 7 (2013) too!!!

The 2100mHz band is only used for infill around the cities - I've never had a problem with the tablet, so not expecting anything different with the N6.

So far, loving it.

It's somewhat larger than the N4, but about two thirds the size of the N7. Felt big in my hand initially, but I have large hands so I can pretty much use it one-handed...
