1399962 2015-05-04 05:38:00 Hi i have a question on how to do this in Server 2012 .

" Create two folders on File Server 1 & File Server 2 drives. Name the folders Folder1XX and Folder2XX where XX is your initials".

Is this some sort of question from server training course ?
If so, the task is worded VERY poorly. Is this 2 file servers, or 2 separate server drives ?
Or is there more to the task we dont know about?

Simple answer... go to c: , right click, create folder , type in name.
The task mentioned nothing about shares or permissions . Unless specified/required, dont start giving share access to users .

The simple way works well, thats no different to any other folder on any other Windows PC, ( usually works, but not always) I was looking a bit further ahead as well.

Just by the way the question was written, sharing / Permissions is coming I suspect :)

Ok it's from a course .

Yes i do agree English is poor written .

Basically we are to create Domain Controller and then File Server and another two Server related things .
Yes looking further there is shares /permissions but not at the moment .

Thanks

Thanks Just to update, in bold :) The Pictures I posted previously were with Server 2012 on a work-group. A Domain looks different since you'll be using Active Directory as well to add users (& for sharing when it comes) :)

Have you gotten to the stage of doing a setup for installing of the Domain section yet ?

Have a read of the following, shows how to set up: step-by-step-deploy-dfs-in-windows-server-2012-r2/ (mizitechinfo.wordpress.com) On my Office Computer ( which I've just turned off) I have a link to a video that works through the complete process, I'll post it tomorrow.

1399971 2015-05-16 12:50:00 Ok i have managed to do replication but little problem , hopefully it can fixed soon . This is not happening properally , i refreshed Server FS01 and FS02 and restarted Server , the text document does'nt come up mean a replication is not seen.

Question is

Add a Text document to FS01\E:\TestShared with your details and verify that replication has occurred to FS02\E:\TestShared

Thanks
