1388926 2014-12-10 01:19:00 Define acting please, he was the PM at the time, no acting about it. Unless you mean doing the official job of PM instead of "joe public" out with the family (which he wasn't). So basically he stuffs up and everyone else has to pay for it.

Acting as pm = he was "on the job" at the time, ie not at home or after hours or on holiday.
Did he stuff up , or is this just some dropkick filing lawsuits that they simply wont win. Wait & see. Loser also pays costs (some % of them)

I actually prefer a confident pm that speaks their mind (be it Nat or Labour), rather than some timid politician too scared to say anything of note in public.

Agree there, what's a worry though, is when a PM (what ever party in power at the time) Says and guarantees one thing, then next thing you know they are doing the exact opposite to what was said.
The PM is the Mouth piece for the whole party basically so anything negative or positive done by others in that party will come through the PM. When this doesn't happen all of a sudden you get "I didn't know about that -- I don't recall" etc, and made to look stupid, incompetent, or a liar.

I recall David Lange around December 1984 (or it could have been December 1985) promising West Coast Forest Service workers something along the lines..."Come next April I promise you will all have your jobs"

Came the following April, most were out of a job.
