| 1388880 | 2014-12-03 18:30:00 | So you don’t have a problem with Key’s liaison with Slater? No I do not. As far as I am concerned Key can talk to whoever he likes. So can Edwards and so can you or anyone else. In fact the more different views anyone obtains the better. I am quite interested in what others think perhaps even more so if they come from an entirely different background politically. If you only take notice of those that you agree with you might as well just stick your head in a bucket and talk to yourself. Having said that I do recognise where most comentators are coming from be it on a forum such as this or in the MSM and read what they say with that in mind. Sometimes what I read modifies what I think and sometimes it does not. I firmly believe that it is foolish to lock yourself into a position where one believes that the other guy is always wrong just because he supports a different party, wears a different colour, is of a different race or religon. That way of thinking belongs to radical religion or Black Power/Mongrel Mob type groups. To get back to Slater. He is obnoxious and is biased against the political Left. The Media hates him because he takes great delight in pointing out when they make a mistake be it spelling, the wrong name on a picture or just leaving out anything that does not suit the particular line they are pushing. Slater , like him or hate him, is more often than not right. When he does get something wrong he is quick to apologise. Apart from being guilty of breaching a name supression order he has been cleared (so far) by all investigations into his activities. He is up front and does not hide behind a fictious name like some Left wing comentators. Back in the days of the Colin Moyle affair (google it if you need to) I had a neighbour who was a dedicated Labour/Union man. A really loverly older guy who became a defacto grandfather to my children. There was no way he would believe that there was the slightest possibility that anyone in the Labour Party could possibly be a homosexual in spite of all evidence to the contrary. Now days it is a positive advantage to be gay for a left wing politician. |

Now days it is a positive advantage to be gay for a left wing politician. So youre relaxed about Key maintaining his association with Slater and by defacto Dirty Politics. Thats fine, but others see it differently and common sense suggests he should be trying to distance himself, and the fact he isnt has led to the assumption that Slater has him by the Short and Curly. As for myself, Im no left winger having never voted Labour in my life and indeed thought Key might be our saviour. I soon changed that view when he started his Separatist Policies, reopened the Seabed and Foreshore nonsense and started selling the Silverware, along with introducing Carbon Tax and upping GST to 15%. I could go on. As for Moyle, yes he would have been better off in the present era, but then National countered with the Keith Allen affair. ;) Our problem is we have an abundance of Politicians and no Statesmen. |

I vote this best post on thread. (especially the bit about Beemers being 'bling enough', nothing could be further from the truth, but Maybachs are a bad look, just ask Lorde);) |
