| 443460 | 2006-04-03 10:27:00 | I've been using Pc-cillin for years with no problems and thought I'd buy the 2006 upgrade package from Noel Leeming but none in shop same at Smiths City and online shopping say they might perhaps be able to get it in 10 days time. However they both have tons of the Norton Anti Virus is this a hint that their going out of Trend Micros Pc-cillin? is Norton as good or better? Idont want to leave the computer unprotected for that long so praps I better go to Norton (I always wanted the bike when Iwas younger) or does anyone know an online site where Ican get it? | 443461 | 2006-04-03 10:33:00 | A lot of people have commented about Nortons on here. And dont like it that much. Due to it being a memory hog. And other things. So, unless you have a LOT of ram, most people wouldn't buy it / try it. And would rather use something like AVG, Avirt, Zonealarm etc. Or one of the other free AV programs around. And even tho some say Pc-cillin Internet Security 2006 is good, there's a post here, from some of us, saying otherwise. I used it last month. It kept on cutting me off the net, every 20-30 minutes. I got rid of it. |

| 443463 | 2006-04-03 12:24:00 | Northon is a memory hog, but I recently tried out the full Zone Alarm Security suite and that is a memory hog too, so I find it much better not to us a whole suite but use a seperate anti-virus and firewall. For me AVG and Zone Alarm work fine together and they're easy to use, and above all...free! | WarNox (8772) | ||
| 443464 | 2006-04-03 12:29:00 | Straight up, Nortons is crap. Give it any one of a dozen viruses and it just shuts down and becomes useless. NOt to mention its a resource hog. Its only popular because most people get it with their new computer, and through not knowing (or wanting to know) about anything else out there, they stick with it. If you are going to pay for an anti virus app, get Nod32. |
