| 443421 | 2006-04-03 07:37:00 | Every since I bought my HP computer little less than a year agoo I have had problems with it crashing, This problem decreased substantially after I uninstalled Norton Anti Virus protection and replace it with AVG free. But it still crashes or slows often. I use my computer for every thing from gaming to watching TV and movies to Flash and web design. While I do have dual core Pentium D processors my graphics card is something to be desired. It’s a RADEON X300, I plan to upgrade to a Saphire X1600XT in the near future, do you thing this will solve my crash/slowdown problem? Thanks |

| 443422 | 2006-04-03 07:43:00 | no. i doubt it. do you get any error messages? really need to know more detail on when its crashing, what your doing, what software etc is installed. 90% of the time crashing/slowdown is due to infections. |

| 443423 | 2006-04-03 08:18:00 | Well today it was while I was running flash 8, Adobe Auditions and itunes (no music playing though). In the past it has been while playing games, such as HL2 or Far Cry, or while watching TV and surfing the web at the same time, before I uninstalled Norton it would happen when I tried to shut down. Today I didn’t get any error messages it just locked up like I said I was running flash 8, Adobe Auditions and itunes. I was just working and it froze, I pressed ctrl+alt+dell many times waited many minutes still frozen I was forced to hard boot. I have had to hard boot at least 30 times minimum since I purchased my computer it was mostly due to Norton but there are still problems. I have my pc defragged and scanned weekly and yet I still have problems with crashing. I hope this is enough info. |

It was the video cards cooling fan seizing up, running slow & not cooling the gpu sufficiently. Now the fan's locked & the card is history | Phil B (648) | ||
