443347 2006-04-03 04:45:00 Am having some grief with an iPod and am getting this message on the PC
“iTunes.exe-Corrupt File
The file or directory \iPod-Control\iTunes\Temp File is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the Chkdske Utility”
What and where is the Chkdske Utility?! XP Pro.
Many thanks

443350 2006-04-03 06:45:00 Open your Windows :D. They are system utility programmes. Graham L (2)
443351 2006-04-03 06:49:00 If Itunes is the only corrupt file/folder, uninstall it and reinstall it.

Or ditch Itunes and get Winamp, with its plugin, or download 5.21, which now supports a few players, including the Ipod. For MP3's.

Thats if u dont use Itunes for Podcasting, buying songs / using the video side of it.

443352 2006-04-04 01:58:00 Have reinstalled iTunes but the problem appears to be in the iPod – Temp File – sorry but still don’t know where the Chkdske Utility is! OK for some of you young ones working with this stuff all the time but like my car don’t have to lift the bonnet on Windows too often!
Many thanks

443353 2006-04-04 02:40:00 If its the temp folder, thats screwing things up.

Uninstall Itunes again, delete its folder in program files, delete its folder in documents and settings (u may have to tick show all files, if Itunes puts a folder here).

Use ccleaner to clean the crap off the hdd, click on the issues tab in ccleaner / scan for issues, delete everything that comes up, and then reinstall Itunes again.

I would also try disabling any firewalls / running AV programs (if there's an icon in the taskbar), before you install Itunes again. Then see if it'll install.
