2006-04-03 01:39:00 | Hi You guys seen the new Ihug plans? www.ihug.co.nz I am on 40Gb peak and Off peak which would be changed to 20GB+ 40GB next month I rather stay on the 2mbps. You get 20GB peak and 40GB off peak!! Off peak time is from 12am to 8am peak Time is from 8am to 12am. 16 hours of Off peak and 5 hours of peak. I think everyone would be asleep during off peak time. Man what kinda stupid plan is that

2006-04-03 03:08:00 | I am with IHUG. My current useage is between 3GB-4GB per month with all access generally between 8am-10pm. Am currently on a 4GB (anytime of day) 256kbps/128kbps plan (with tolls) for $39.95 per month which suits me fine. I dont game or make heavy download usage so the speed I currently get is more than adequate with a relatively reasonable response time. I didn't bother migrating to their 2mbps/128kbps plan (with tolls) for the same $39.95 per month because they brought in peak/off-peak (2GB+2GB) which meant I was effectively having my existing data limit reduced 50%. Now I see their lastest offer for the same $39.95 (with tolls) gives a plan with 3.5mbps/128kbps with a peak/off-peak (1GB+2GB) limit as well. This now means my data cap is reduced by 75% from current. I have heard and read all the blurb that that broadband is becoming cheaper .... well not for me it isnt! Until they improve their offer, I think I will be staying with what I have got in the meantime. :groan:

2006-04-03 03:12:00 | I'm not too pleased, either. I'm on the starter plan with 2+2GB which suits me fine but the new plan reduces the peak to 1GB. | linw (53) | |

2006-04-06 05:17:00 | You can get 3584/128 kbps at Slingshot (slingshot.co.nz) and 10GB for $50/mo, then upgrade your data, $25/30GB, so if you want 40GB total, then you'd be paying $75 and there's no offpeak/onpeak limitations. And if you're one of the users on the starter plan, for $43/mo you can get 2Mbps and 10GB at xnet (www.xnet.co.nz).

2006-04-06 05:25:00 | I think 60GB for $90 is better than $75 for 40GB You will use the data much more quickily with slingshot
