i have a blank 200gb (realistically 186gb) i have windows xp Vlk, Win xp pro sp2, ans server 2003 enterprise edition installation cds. Which should i install and what would be a good partiton setup, one whole partition? or seperate for system? and what sizes? any suggestions? |

Allocate 20 Gb for Windows and Programs. You can also place program files on the remaining 180 Gb, but as I have found when installing and running the programs some need to be placed on C drive. There probably is no good reason to allocate a separate partition for something like "Games" or "Photos" since you can simply create a folder for these things. Games or downloads from the internet can mess up the HD but usually it is the OS that is hit and that will be on C drive. |
