2006-04-05 05:44:00 | I've had a PSP for a long time and have no problem hooking up to my Windows XP. Well a couple of days ago i did a system restore and for some reason it messed up a lot of my drivers. Well today when i plugged my PSP in it said new hardware found and it installed it and said it was ready to use... but when I went into My Computer, the removable drive was not shown. I went into Device manager and there were two things for it and they were USB Mass Storage Device and Disk Drive: Sony PSP USB Device. Both said it was working properly... Does anyone have any clue to whats wrong??? :help: | Steelers82kk (10143) | |
2006-04-05 05:53:00 | Try deleting the USB Mass storage entries, and the PSP entry. And reboot. See if that fixes it. Did u install SP1 or 2 recently? Before u used system restore? If so, I would reinstall whatever SP was installed before, and delete the above, then reboot. They'll come back.

2006-04-05 06:59:00 | does the psp show in disk management if so check the drive letter does not conflict with another drive on your system. (shouldn't happen but does especially if you use mapped network drives) | beama (111) | |

2006-04-05 21:36:00 | nope but is it possible its not working because of a faulty USB cable? Because i just realized that it was sort of bent at the end and when i like barely touched it would say the USB Device has malfunctioned... | Steelers82kk (10143) | |

Because i just realized that it was sort of bent at the end and when i like barely touched it would say the USB Device has malfunctioned... Thats a possibility. It sounds like some wires maybe broken in it. I would get another cable. It might fix it. Or try it in another USB port. If it doesn't work there either, get another cable. |

2006-04-05 21:48:00 | Ive tried all USB ports and i really dont thing it is cause of the cable because yesterday i tried it in my other computers and it was working fine. Its only this computer it has wont work with... I'm going to get a new cable anyway to see what happens but if that doesn't work is there anything else i can try? | Steelers82kk (10143) | |
