| 443961 | 2006-04-05 03:28:00 | I have ended up with a dead monitor and it is completely dead, I have had monitors fail in the past but there is always a reaction when I turn the power on, (anything from the power light lighting up to the crackle of the crt flyback thingie), But on this monitor nothing, nada, zip no crackle, no light no beeping infact i had to check the power was turned on as it made absoloutly no difference Does this mean that it is likely to be a blown fuse (something cheap to fix) I know this seems odd but I have never had a quiet "dead" monitor, and it is odd Cheers |

| 443964 | 2006-04-06 03:40:00 | If it's "just a fuse" there's usually something which caused the fuse to pop. But it's always worth a look. Sometimes fuses do blow from old age. A fault in the ouput side of the power supply, or the load, usually won't blow a fuse. Faults in the input side ... shorted rectifier, high voltage capacitor, etc, will blow a fuse. | Graham L (2) | ||
| 443965 | 2006-04-06 04:17:00 | Some basics.On the power supply cable connection into the monitor can you plug in a test bulb or voltmeter to check 230v is going into the monitor?. Is monitor dead when plugged into another computer?, does another monitor work OK, ie your video card is OK. How old and/or hours run on monitor?, it may not be worth trying to get it repaired. | FrankS (257) | ||
