| 443718 | 2006-04-04 08:49:00 | it will boot w/o cable into IDE2. no lites on devices plugged into it. yes, floppy lite continually on. red line on cable in same direction as cables on both ide ports. red line is on the left hand side of the case facing me. what am i doing wrong?!? will check to see if cdrw lite comes on at boot. will let u know. no lites on boot from either device on the IDE2. |

| 443719 | 2006-04-04 09:25:00 | If the floppy light stays on continuously with no disk in it, it means the floppy cable is round the wrong way. Just as long as the red/blue stripe on the ide cables are going to pin 1 on the hdd and mobo, it should work. If either of the ide cable ends are blue, the blue end goes to the mobo ide connection. |

| 443721 | 2006-04-06 02:44:00 | The motherboard socket for the floppy cable often points the other way round . ;) Don't ask me why . Pin 1 on hard disks is at the end of the connector nearest the power connector on the drive . |
