444670 2006-04-07 06:01:00 Greetings all,
While trying to update my House's webpage, I realise that the names at the bottom-right of the webpage are not aligned. As such, I tried dividing the cell into two and get the names onto one side, but the border is quite obvious and ugly. The names are located under the heading PEER SUPPORT LEADERS and TUTOR REPS. Any suggestions besides "spacebar-ing"? To be frank, I hate working with tables within tables. The edited webpage is located at: www.geocities.com

Note, the URLs are not clickable. They do not pointing to my House's proper website, which is www.howickcollege.school.nz

Cheers :D

444671 2006-04-07 06:12:00 tables in tables might be the easiest.

Otherwise try with CSS setting the left margin, but that will be fraught with difficulties in a table.

Life is too short to get all anal over the issue.

444674 2006-04-07 07:03:00 I don't know what you're using to create the tables and cells but "border=0" should work
If not and you're using some geocities site builder or similar, just set the border colour to the same as the background and they won't be seen

As for the links you've put in they are all wrong, linking to index.html will send you straight to geocities homepage they should look something like this:

<a href="www.howickcollege.school.nz
whereas you've got
<a href="/index.html"></a>

444677 2006-04-07 08:04:00 You could use monospace fonts, These fonts below are the ones I find more common on all platforms:

"Andale Mono", Courier, "Courier New", monospace;

Use those fonts for those four initials/characters and the hypen which means those will remain the same inline and the names should appear inline too . Or just make it all that font and it should line up .

The left side looks smaller and not as bold as the other side too, mainly due to the serif fonts on the left and the sans-serif on the right .

Other than that, my other suggestions would rewrite it using CSS and make it right at the start .

Cheers,

KK

It is meant to be hosted under my school's website, not Geocities. I used MS Frontpage 2003 to edit the existing webpage. I am trying to fix and make the webpage appears how I want it to be, but I am getting a feeling that I am fixing a tofu. The link is meant to be /oragnisation/ingham_index.html, but I pull out the webpage and place all of them in the same folder so that it is easier to work with them. It is impossible to set cell border to 0; tables can, I agree.

Cheers :)
