444531 2006-04-06 20:09:00 For some reason my computer will not open any PDF files. I have Adobe Reader 7.0 installed on my computer. Is Adobe Reader different than Adobe Acrobat? Do I need to install Adobe Acrobat in order to read PDFs? If so, is Adobe Acrobat free like Adobe Reader is? f swear I've been able to open PDFs in the past on my computer. What's going on? I'm a little confused right now. :help: Computer illiterate (10158)

Does your computer still show the Adobe style icon for the PDF files? The file association for PDF files may of been lost, so Windows no longer knows what program to open those files with. Have a read of this (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz ) and check to make sure it is set correctly.

444534 2006-04-07 00:07:00 Have you recently upgraded Adobe Reader from v3 ?4 to v7. Earlier versions used a different file to open pdf. FrankS (257)
444535 2006-04-07 02:26:00 Your browser might be excluding PDF files because of its security setting. (PDFs are "execurtable files"). Graham L (2)
