444723 2006-04-07 22:21:00 Maybe I'm missing a point here . . . but I have Nero from a DVD-burner I bought . . . but don't use Nero at all . Don't really care for it .

Some time ago I got used to DVD Shrink, which is free and handles all the DVD rips and burns I want .

I use the . iso save though . . . and I know others don't like to let me say that . . . not illegal or anything . . . it's just the format I use to rip for DVD's .

Is there something I missed? This is too simple .

I think I heard somewhere that DVD shrink is kinda hard to find . . . ????

444724 2006-04-07 22:32:00 The only reason I use Nerovision (more than Nero), is for making chapters / menus for videos I take. Or whatever I record from the tuner, if I want to make menus etc for the DVD, before I burn something to it.

DVDshrink is hard to get now, coz the original site no longer lets you download it (as it says), coz of U.S laws.

Yeah.....I wondered about that possibility.
Seeing as DVD Shrink allows removal of territorial codes and that you don't have to set any new protection when ripping it makes sense. Since we are allowed to rip any media that we currently own and can readilly put our hands upon, I have no qualms with running it yet. I am sure that legality will change in the future.

444726 2006-04-08 00:29:00 I thought that circumventing DRM was illegial in America?
And doesn't DVD Shrink use Nero for burning DVDs?
