| 445348 | 2006-04-10 04:01:00 | :help: I have a HP laptop with 900 MHz, 192 RAM, and Win Xp . About a week ago I put my laptop to "stand by", it did what it usually does goes to this like shut down mode, except this time it got stuck some were in between . The screen was off, but the hard drive was still running . So I tried to hold down the power button to turn it off and that didn't work . I had to take out the battery and disconnect from the power to turn in off . After that if I turn on the laptop it turns the hard drive on and the DVD/CDR-rom and then turns back off . The screen never turns on and the CPU fan turns on and off once in a while . O yes there is no dust in the laptop . Well last night I thought I was going crazy, :waughh: my laptop turned on by it self and then back off and it did that three times at random intervals . I also found out that my battery has died and it will not recharged . any one has any idea what is going on help me . Thanks |

| 445349 | 2006-04-10 04:08:00 | did u update the bios recently . i had the same problem with my compaq because of a bad flash - i suspect that i was partly the fault of a usb mouse (a4 tech) . if the above doesnt apply my best guest is that your motherboard needs a check from a specialist . |
