445060 2006-09-28 10:48:00 um.. i use to have some servers on my machine just for fun when i was with orcon a while back
switched to quicksilver..and they all stopped working
wellz..can't access them from other comps across the internet anymore

havn't really figured out how quicksilver control all their port stuff
but it feels like they won't let people have access to you
even if port forward is enabled in your router

if you figure out what exactly they do then make sure to share it with me :D

445061 2006-09-28 10:54:00 Very strange. Both our experiences seem to contradict an earlier post.

I have emailed quicksilver for an explanation. Will let you know what their official word is when they reply.

Hi,
We don't block any ports so setting up remote access will work fine.

445063 2006-10-02 02:57:00 Well according to quicksilver there's no blocking going on so must be on our side.

The router config is pretty straight forward but must have missed something.

445064 2006-10-02 03:05:00 Ok, mine is working fine.

I hadn't configured my connection to go through the work proxy properly.

Quicksilver are true to their word.

445065 2006-10-02 09:05:00 oo that's glad to hear
..but now i have to figure out what's wrong with my setup...

after i switched from orcon i can't get connections from the internet to my computers anymore
even though router settings stayed the same except for different user name and password
i also tested it using several methods but still can't get in

may i ask what type of service you are running and using what port?
