445050 2006-04-28 06:48:00 Hi,

You may wish to take a look at the Network Status message posted on the Quicksilver website (www.quicksilver.co.nz), and the Press Release issued yesterday regarding Broadband speed problems (www.quicksilver.co.nz).

The industry organisation ISPANZ have also today put out a release on this problem at www.ispanz.org.nz

There's growing unrest amongst all ISPs about the constraints imposed by Telecom on backhaul etc.

445051 2006-04-28 06:48:00 Hi,

Just to clear this up, Quicksilver does not block ports, or port-shape at all. The helpdesk were correct in their information.

445057 2006-04-28 11:54:00 oh..ic..so ports aren't blocked..
all i did was run tests from shields up and the ports were blocked that's all

i remember that when i was with orcon..i scanned myself with shield up and i was trying to close some ports that aren't supose to be open
so..because i have the same router setting..and those damn ports i can't close was closed after i switch to quicksilver..i concluded that the ports that i tried to closed has been closed by quicksilver
..hope that makes sense..that paragraph doesn't read very smoothly..anywayz..

yea..then after that i thought i'll test with azureus since it can check NAT status
and i end up with nat error even when i used the ports i opened in my router

hah..i thought it was a great security thing implanted by quicksilver
but now if ..er..it doesn't actually exist..would be nice to know how to get my vnc working again~

445059 2006-09-27 21:21:00 hi

I also am using quicksilver 3.5Mb/128kb plan.

I have set up my router to allow remote access and tried port forwarding and complete DMZ but still cannot connect remotely to the router or my computer.

Can anybody out there connect remotely using quicksilver?

My router is a dynalink rta220. I have done this before but have since upgraded the firmware.

Cheers
