2006-04-08 04:08:00 | Hello, I am having problems with installing Window XP. THis is what happen my laptop was running fine until I got a virus or something and so I ran the virus scan. After I restarted it Windows would not start up, the start up screen for my laptop would keep reloading. I put the Recovery CD in but the Stop Error Message came up after it loaded the system Recovery...So I decided to reformat, after I reformat it and tried to run the Window XP CD from my external USB CD drive, I got The Stop Error Message right after I see the words "Starting up Windows" This is the Stop Error message... Stop: 0x0000007B (0xF99E063C, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) I even went out and bought a new HD for my laptop because I thought my old one had problems. The same thing would happen... I search all over the internet and still I was not able to find anything that can help me fix this problem......... Please Help... Anyone. :waughh:

2006-04-08 04:34:00 | Sounds like a hardware issue, I would think RAM. I remember one time when I had not even had an OS installed and threw the Windows install CD in and got a blue screen, so obviously the CD knows how to generate Blue Screens too. Hard Drives would most likely be good. Cheers, KK

2006-04-08 04:41:00 | Its not RAM. support.microsoft.com And: Stop 0x0000007B or INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE The Stop 0x7B message indicates that Windows XP has lost access to the system partition or boot volume during the startup process. Installing incorrect device drivers when installing or upgrading storage adapter hardware typically causes stop 0x7B errors. Stop 0x7B errors could also indicate possible virus infection. The second parameter is very important because it can indicate whether the 0x7B Stop message was caused by file system issues or problems with storage hardware and drivers. Values of 0xC000034 or 0xC000000E typically indicate: * Disks or storage controllers that are failing, defective, or improperly configured. * Storage-related drivers or programs (tape management software, for example) that are not fully compatible with Windows XP Professional. Possible Resolutions: * During I/O system initialization, the controller or driver for the startup device (typically the hard disk) might have failed to initialize the necessary hardware. File system initialization might have failed because of disk or controller failure, or because the file system did not recognize the data on the boot device. * Repartitioning disks, adding new disks, or upgrading to a new disk controller might cause the information in the Boot.ini file, or Boot Manager, to become outdated. If this Stop message occurs after installing new disks to your system, edit the Boot.ini file or adjust the Boot Manager parameters to allow the system to start. If the error occurs after upgrading the disk controller, verify that the new hardware is functioning and correctly configured. * Verify that the system firmware and disk controller BIOS settings are correct and that the storage device was properly installed. If you are unsure, consult your computer's documentation about restoring default firmware settings or configuring your system to auto-detect settings. If the error occurs during Windows XP Professional setup, the problem might be due to unsupported disk controller hardware. In some cases, drivers for new hardware are not in the Windows XP Professional Driver.cab library, and you need to provide additional drivers to complete the Windows XP setup successfully. If this is the case, follow the hardware manufacturer's instructions when installing drivers. Periodically check for driver and firmware updates. * Hard disk corruption can also cause this Stop message. For more information about checking hard disk integrity, see the instructions provided in "Stop 0x00000024 or NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM" earlier in this list. * Problems that cause 0x7B errors might also cause Stop 0xED errors. For more information about 0xED Stop messages, see "Stop 0x0000007B or INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE" later in this list.

2006-04-08 05:52:00 | pctek is right ... Typically this error message is because you don't have the right mass storage drivers (IDE/Sata/SCSI drivers a.k.a. motherboard drivers). You see this lovely error message a lot if you are trying to put a ghost image on different hardware and the person who made it didn't use sysprep right. It would help to know the exact model of laptop you have, as it sounds as though you need drivers to install before XP fully starts setup e.g. read this (www.neoseeker.com). A XP CD with Service pack 2 slipstreamed in may help too. Also some bios settings may need to be adjusted.

2006-04-08 06:57:00 | Hi, thank you for your replies . I suppose I wasn't too clear on my situation earlier, and what I have done to try to remedy the issue . 1st of all the system in concern is a tablet pc (ViewSonic V1250s) and the problem occured after I tried to ran a virus scan and reboot after . At first I thought it was Harddrive issue and put in a new drive for test but the same exact error persisted . I went into bios but there aren't many things to tweak around in there, since this is a tablet after all . I notice the original tablet was running on Windows XP Tablet PC Edition which never did came with viewsonic's package so I am trying to install Windows XP Professional onto the Tablet . I am not sure if that's the reason (if it's lack of controller in the installation CD that's causing the problem) but if it is, I am havinig trouble finding the proper disc controller for this tablet . I will try to install with a SP2 slipstreamed XP CD when I can get a hold of it, but before that, is there any other possible issue that might have caused this problem ? Perhaps a virus might have damaged the bios ? Thank you again for replies .

2006-04-09 09:11:00 | :waughh: /sigh... I really don't know what's wrong with my laptop... My last hope was to download and try to install Windows XP Tablet PC Edition thinking that maybe that could be the reason? But the same exact thing happen... I got the ***Stop: 0x0000007B (0xF99D8524, 0xC0000034. 0x00000000, 0x00000000) I've read and tried almost about everything I can find on the web about this but I would get the same Stop error message... | 444966 | 2006-06-12 18:43:00 | I had this same problem. The isssue with the restore CD's that come with the device is that it is a Windwos restore. It natively does not have the correct storage drivers. I have been unable to find them myself. But viewsonic has posted a new restore CD set that does allow you to rebuild the tablet. The site is ftp.viewsonic.com The id techsupp the password is !VSOTftp The ISO's can be found inthe V1250 folder. I hope that this helps. --rocket
