| 445473 | 2006-04-10 09:07:00 | I have a hp1702 monitor with a burnt out IC on the power supply board & would like to know if anyone has this model monitor with a damaged screen that they want to sell or if someone with a hp1702,hp1502 or hp1902 is willing to remove the back cover & get the part number off the chip. | fatb (10185) | ||
| 445474 | 2006-04-10 09:33:00 | If the IC has gone, the chances are that it has also taken plenty of the other electronic components with it when it was in failure mode. While the damage will not be "visible" it must be factored in. I have never seen a case of a TV etc where a power supply chip was the sole damage, often the damage to the power supply was caused by a failure elsewhere first. Simply replacing the "chip" is not going to fix any collateral or causal damage. |
