| 445575 | 2006-04-11 04:57:00 | SUCCESS. New modem is working. And on IHugs speed test I am running at 223 kilobytes sec. My USB modem used to be 160/70. So a speed increase. Now we wait and see if I kep getting dropped. One major problem during the install. My network port was set up for firewire and I couldn't connect with IHUG. Luckily I found the driver I wanted and was away like a fly up a cow's backside. Six hours to change a modem. Not bad for me. :D :D |

Let's hope it keeps going without a hitch.Stand outside Jack's door with a torch for a few hours tonight, and if it doesn't work, you should be able to catch it before it hits the ground. As a matter of fact I did a clean up under and behind my desk yesterday and found 4 56k modems and 3 keyboards.Also packaging for god knows how many computer parts. Also piles of ash and empty cigarette packets. And I know someone who is going to complain about her vacuum bag being full again. Seriously though, the next time someone says an ethernet router/modem is better than a USB one. I will agree wholeheartedly with him. 30% faster!!!! |
