| 445860 | 2006-04-12 03:28:00 | Hi there I was wondering if its possible to have an email link from a website, start a default program with text already filled in the Body section of the email. Ive to create a Entryform, but would like to place some text in the body of the email that reminds the user of certain information. Its easy enough to create an email link and add a subject line, but can I pre-enter text ? Thanks...................John in Mosgiel. |

Ive tried the %0D but it doesent work, neither does it work with the example code they provided. Can you help? Its for this site www.rtc100.co.nz down the bottom where it has a link to Entry Form Thanks in anticipation. John. |

Usually you'll get away without converting spaces to %20, but the link on your page wouldn't work for me unless I converted the spaces around the hyphen to %20 characters. So, for example you could use: href="mailto:me@mydomain.co.nz?subject=Send me email%20-%20please&body=Here is an email for you%0D From%20-%20Your name goes here" Although to do it properly you should convert all the spaces. The example above works for me using firefox and IE with thunderbird. I don't have other email clients to try it out with. |
