| 445480 | 2006-04-10 09:28:00 | :D Hi all, Need your expertise, forgive me if I am not up to 'play' with possible solutions...... I would like to run powerpoint, digital footage, photos etc thru my lappy onto a big screen or thru my tv.... Should I buy a DVD Writer to burn off the items to be played thru a DVD Player? Considered a Projector but they are very pricey.... I have also considered buying an External Hard Drive, this would also take up alot of my photos and such that I have on my lappy at the moment...I have heard that you can get Ext. Hard drives that hook directly to your tv - is this so? Is there such a thing to hook my lappy up directly to my tv? Appreciate your advice thanks.... |

All laptops these days have a standard VGA output (15 pin) or, SVideo (small yellow) out plug on your lappy Thanks for this...I can find the 15 pin outlet (VGA) but no yellow SVideo outlet. Doesn't seem to be any extra cords in the lappy bag....Would I purchase a VGA output cable from somewhere like DSE? Are they multi use or do they vary according to computer brand? Thanks again... |

| 445483 | 2006-04-10 11:16:00 | Is the make/model of the laptop available, this would help a lot. As would the details of the TV you intend to use as the display. The VGA output has no cheap solution for display to a "standard" TV (newer LCDs are sometimes equipped with a VGA socket however). The S-Video is a cheap solution, but not all laptops are so equipped, despite the assurance from bod_doe_nz. |

My laptop is a HP Compaq nx6120 (no DVD Writer)...my tv is a Sony Trinitron, which we've had for a while... Ideally I would like to find the cheapest, but easiest option to do this... Thanks very much :o) |
