| 446336 | 2006-04-15 00:31:00 | The atheist An atheist was walking through the woods and was enjoying the majesty of the trees, the power of the rivers and the beautiful animals . As he continued his walk he became aware of the rustling of the bushes behind him . Turning around he saw a grizzly charging down on him . He started running away, up the path as fast as he could but looking over his shoulder he could see the bear fast closing in on him . With his heart beating frantically he tried to run even faster but tripped and fell . As he rolled over to pick himself up he saw the bear lift his paw to take a swipe at him . In that instant he cried out “Oh my God……” Time stopped, the forest went silent and the bear froze . At that point a bright light shone upon him and a voice from heaven spoke to him “All these years you have denied my existence and tried to convince others that I do not exist and denied me credit for my creation, claiming it to be some sort of cosmic accident . Do you now expect me to help you out of your predicament? Am I to treat you as I would a believer?” Looking into the light the atheist replied “I agree it would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask you to treat me as a Christian now, but perhaps you would consider making the bear a Christian . ” To which the voice replied “Okay, very well, no problem . ” The light went out, the sounds of the forest returned and the bear lowered his paw, bowed his head and spoke . “Lord, bless this food of which I am about to partake and for which I am truly thankful . ” |
