446320 2006-04-14 23:49:00 Hi, newbie here. I'm trying to help my parents over the phone, they have winXP and I still use win2000, I am not familiar with xp yet.

It seems that the "viewer" that opens when you click on a jpg in xp, a white blank screen opens (with a few buttons at the bottom ) and it hangs with the hourglass mouse. It closes after 2 attempts with cntrl+alt+delete.

Does anyone know how to fix this, or where I can re-download the viewer from Microsoft, I get lost there.

Thankyou very much. zoom.

446322 2006-04-15 03:03:00 I can't help with fixing the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer as I don't use it myself but would suggest that your parents download and use Irfanview (http://www.irfanview.com/) instead. It is free, very popular and easy to use.

Another excellent graphics viewer that I use is FastStone Image Viewer (www.faststone.org), also free with some really neat features.
