445977 2006-04-12 23:59:00 Hey People.

I am trying to connect to my home machine using Remote Desktop Connection, I enabled it and am using a no-ip setup, I am able to get into the router but not the PC by typing in the redirect I have set for the no-ip setup into a web browser but only get the router, also just now it has stopped being able to find the page.

How can I bypass the router and get into the PC?

Thanks :)

445978 2006-04-13 00:05:00 On your router redirect port 3389 to the PC. It should be in the NAT section of the routers config.

3389 is the default port for Remote Desktop Connection (Terminal Server)

445979 2006-04-13 00:07:00 Oh - nearly forgot - while your doing this think about security, if your routers httpd server (config pages) are available from the internet then you will get probed and attacked. gcarmich (10068)
445980 2006-04-13 00:14:00 I have changed the default port for RDC.

I think I have, these were the settings I put in to redirect the port IP from - 10.1.1.3 IP to 10.1.1.32 does this redirect the port for IP .3 through to .32? or not?

445981 2006-04-13 00:22:00 Nope - .3 and .32 are part of the ip addresses. Which router do you have ? gcarmich (10068)
445982 2006-04-13 00:26:00 It is the Dlink DSL-302Gv2.

Yes I know they are a part I just couldn't be bothered typing out the whole IP :p

It should have-said I think I have, these were the settings I put in to redirect the port IP from - 10.1.1.3 IP to 10.1.1.32 does this redirect the port for IP 10.1.1..3 through to 10.1.1.32? or not?

445983 2006-04-13 00:38:00 Checkout portforward.com which will show you exactly how to do it. gcarmich (10068)
445984 2006-04-13 00:42:00 Yeah....I have been there before, this has Xtra firmware meaning I am unable to open the ports that way, meaning I need to login to the router using the CLI and type it in manually. The_End_Of_Reality (334)
445985 2006-04-13 01:18:00 I dont understand, you have to enter CLI (?) enter manually, the 302 have advanced menu no? SolMiester (139)
445986 2006-04-13 02:39:00 End of Reality you just need to redirect a port on the router, the 302G has an advanced menu where this can be done. Its not rocket science and doesnt really have anything to do with the IP address other than that you need to forward to the IP address of the client pc. Pete O'Neil (6584)
